What We Book: Local, Regional, National, and International Artist(s) who perform Blues, Rock, Funk, R&B, Country, Bluegrass, Americana, Folk, Groove, Rockabilly, Psychedelia, Jam, Celtic, Reggae, World, and Jazz music. We consider the following when booking a band: What you sound like, your draw, type of audience, your professionalism, and who you have shared bills with. Remember, the Wild Buffalo relies on the Artist(s) draw to make it worth our while to book you. The Wild Buffalo stage isn't a practice space! You must be able to generate a crowd. If you can't bring a crowd to the Buffalo, then why should we book you? How to contact us: The best way to contact us is through the web at www.wildbuffalo.net . Use our Performer's Registration. We STRONGLY suggest you fill this out before making any phone calls to us. The talent buyer can be reached at 360-752-0720 . You may also contact Wild Buffalo via email at: wb@nas.com and your booking related message will be forwarded to the talent buyer. Under no circumstances, do you come to the Wild Buffalo to discuss bookings with without having an appointment. Do not drop off press kits unless requested. Unsolicited physical press kits end up in the round file. Please do NOT attach music files or include photos in your emails unless we specifically request them. The Wild Buffalo is usually booked 8 weeks in advance. We get about 100+ submissions a month for roughly 25 monthly slots. This leaves 75+ bands out in the cold every month and that's tough. Response times vary depending on how busy we are. Your patience is appreciated. The talent buyer will get back to you if and when we have an available slot that we think will fit with our music format. When considering an Engagement at Wild Buffalo, we ask that you do not book another Bellingham area show within at least (3) THREE weeks prior to or (2)TWO weeks following your show at Wild Buffalo. Booking local shows too close together WILL affect your draw. A low draw means you will not be rebooked. Booking a Date at the Wild Buffalo is a joint effort; we just want your show at our Wild Buffalo to be a special event. Please remember, we're on your side. The volume of calls on the booking line can be daunting for the talent buyer. It is OK to be persistent, but please be pleasant. You will hear from us if we have a show for you. We cannot call EVERYONE just to say we don't have any openings right now. Leave a DETAILED message if you can't get through or during off-hours. The most important thing when you leave a message is to leave your name and telephone number. When you leave your telephone number speak clearly and slowly. Don't worry about leaving too many messages, if you need to get through to us we will eventually make that call back -- it may take a few tries, but we will. If we are interested, we will contact you: We will request a professional press kit. All promo materials delivered to Wild Buffalo becomes the property of the Wild Buffalo. Decibel Level: AKA LOUDNESS: Wild Buffalo has been acoustically measured for optimum sound level. It is paramount that employees who work at Wild Buffalo and you, the Artist(s) playing, are working at peak performance. We want the Artist(s) at Wild Buffalo to be presented in a manner in which the people who attend the performance enjoy the dynamics and energy of the music that the Artist(s) is capable of. The decibel levels have been set with that in mind. Please work with the Wild Buffalo sound technician to achieve this harmony. If, once the db levels are set, you exceed the levels, you will be asked to turn down. If this is a chronic problem you will be told to leave the stage. You will be in violation of the contract. The SHOW IS OVER. Remember, if your artistic integrity demands that you play at a volume that exceeds our set db limits, then DON'T PLAY THE WILD BUFFALO. Hospitality: Your contact person needs to know what to expect with regards to hospitality. All the details of your hospitality will have been worked out on the Rider of your Contract or a verbal agreement with the Booker at the time the show was booked. Hospitality is based on the number of people in the Band PERFORMING on stage. If extra hospitality is to include other people make that arrangement with the Booker in advance of the show. Confirm 2 days prior to your performance date. Guest List policy: Each Band member is allowed ONE (1) guest. The Road crew is not exempt unless prior arrangements are made in advance. Working with Wild Buffalo Sound Technician: For ARTIST(S) who have their own sound technician, Wild Buffalo will assign it's own Sound Technician to each show for security and technical support. If Wild Buffalo's Sound Technician deems your Sound Technician is not adequate, they will be asked to leave the sound booth and the Wild Buffalo's Sound Technician will provide the sound mix. WILD BUFFALO'S SOUND TECHNICIAN HAS CONTROL OVER THE MANNER AND MEANS OF SOUND AT ALL TIMES. Multiple Artist(s): WHO GETS CREDIT IF A NIGHT DOES WELL? On Showcase Tuesday Nights and some other nights we have multiple bands. Some bands feel like it's a good thing if their crowd shows up just for them and doesn't watch the other earlier bands on the bill. The truth is that doesn't do anybody any good. If you are the headliner, it is in your favor to encourage your crowd to come in early to see the opener and watch the other bands on the bill. Conversely, if you are the opener, you should encourage your fans to stay for the headliner. It is a team effort. Frequency of Engagements: Once booked at Wild Buffalo, we ask that you do not book another Bellingham area show within at least (3) THREE weeks prior to or (2)TWO weeks following your show at Wild Buffalo.
